About Us

The Sarawak Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) opened its doors to businesses and companies doing business in the State when it was established and registered on 20th July 1951.

The objective of the Chamber is to promote commerce and industry amongst the diverse businesses in the State. The Chamber has established itself as the communication channel for member-businesses with the Government of Malaysia, Government of Sarawak and other Chamber of Commerce & Industries.

Regional Committees in Bintulu, Sibu, and Miri have been formed to better serve and reach members throughout Sarawak. At the national level, the Chamber connects members to the Malaysian International Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MICCI).

Internationally, the Chamber is an associate member of the Brunei-Indonesia MalaysiaPhilippines East ASEAN Growth Area (BIMP-EAGA) Business Council. The BIMP-EAGA represents a land area of 1.6 million square kilometres and a population of 57.5 million.

The Chamber also takes upon itself to establish good working relationship with consular representations in the state, such as with the Consulates General of China, Indonesia, and Negara Brunei Darussalam.

As such, the Chamber invites businesses and companies, including the Small and Medium Enterprises, to tap into the database and benefits of the Sarawak Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Our story is one of Connectivity. SCCI stays true to its advocacy of championing commerce and industry amongst the businesses in Sarawak. SCCI avails to all members, the communication platform to engage with local government, other chambers and industry players.

In moving businesses forward, SCCI provides the network, opportunities and support environment where they can maximise their potentials. Across Sarawak, SCCI serves members with regional committees in Sibu, Miri and Bintulu.

SCCI also keenly promotes participation in international business with trade missions and collaborations especially with China and Indonesia.

Our story is one of Representation. SCCI actively facilitates improvement of the public and private delivery system through PERKESO, MEF and SAMUDAH. SCCI also contributes to discussions and government decision making on issues that impact businesses.

Our story is one of Recognition. SCCI honours entrepreneurial talent and leadership as well as good stewardship in environmental protection through its various prestigious Award Programs in association with local government ministry, agency and partner.
