Media statement by SBF and SCCI
We refer to the statement made by the Honourable Minister of Human Resources Datuk Seri Richard Riot Jaem published in the media on 27th August 2017. It is reportedly stated that the reason, why our nominee, Datuk Philip Ting, was not reappointed to the SOSCO Board was because he is a non-Sarawakian.
With respect, the ground for the Minister's decision is misconceived and blatantly unacceptable.

KUCHING: The proposed Employment Insurance Scheme (EIS) should not be meant for paying additional benefits that are already covered by the existing laws.
In stating this, Sarawak Business Federation (SBF) deputy president Datuk Dr Philip Ting said employers in Sarawak “are not against the EIS system” but the proposed collection “just does not make sense”.

Awards for state’s entrepreneur of the year
KUCHING: Nominations for the annual Sarawak State Entrepreneur of the Year Awards (EOYS) 2017 are now open.
First launched in 2004, EOYS is a prestigious awards programme to honour and acknowledge exceptional entrepreneurial talent and leadership.

The Natural Resources and Environment Board Sarawak (NREB), in collaboration with Sarawak Chamber of Commerce & Industry (SCCI), introduced the Sarawak Chief MInister’s Environmental Award (CMEA) in 2001 as one of the incentives to encourage stewardship in environmental protection and management of the State. The CMEA is the premier environmental award for business, industry, private sector and Local Authorities in Sarawak.
